YC hates to be provoked, but a provoker herself. In the path fraught with illusion and disillusion, YC has finally found the key to infinite bliss, a place to call home in her suitcase and a lifetime of eternal rapture by reaching the highest state of solitude.
YK dreams to flee the country, joining Bert's mad conquest in the Land of Hippies. She eats cupcake and bops her head to breakbeats when plotting for the perfect escape route. YK's favorite word of all time is "mew".
sews stuff and sells em once in awhile. proud creation incs. that wedding dress, that batik ruffle dress, those tiered tops/dresses made of fabric ends and tshirts stolen from ex-boyfriends etc.
Why Ruby Cinema? If it makes you feel any better, my parents admitted that my younger brother was a mistake!HAHAHAAH...from my opinion, Steve Irwin is just a typical bogan "Crikey mate!ain't she a beauty *holding a snake/spider/venomous insect/reptile/amphibian*
few months ago, during a family dinner, my bro suddenly quipped, "she's old enough, we should let the cat out of the bag. mum, tell her the ruby cinema theory is true."
my folks gladly play along. now i'm really thinking twice.
-_-' Can anyone PLS explain to me the "Ruby Cinema Theory". I suffer from middle child syndrome so my parents don't tell me shit. The only crap my parents tell me are the stories of their "poverty" like "Last time we were so poor that we only ate rice with kicap" and you know what's ironic?I have 4 paternal and 2 maternal grandmas. I don't believe the crap that they're feeding me with
that's y they were living in poverty. it's not easy having so many wives.
don't know if u do remember. ruby cinema is in section 17 or one of those dodgy area. there was a garbage dump in the back lane. i was found in that dump. ha.
it's like when they're having their 1st child, they're given an instruction manual on how to bring up the kids and 1001 ways to spook them (usually the middle child gets that particular story).
bahhhhh...
i look so much like my dad, he used to tell his friends that he made a copy of me with one of his printing machines. wahahahaha...
YC: Well, I still don't believe my old man's shit cos my old man had the luxury of furthering his studies in Australia after high school (UniSA to be exact). Besides, my grandpa use to own an illegal tin mine so I doubt my old man DID actually lived in poverty. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA....that explains! But I don't think I can remember. The one in section 17 is called sentosa, the one in taman sea is paramount, the one in state is state, but where the hell is Ruby cinema although it does ring a bell
Arboon: EXACTLY!But now its harder for us to spook our kids considering we're living quite a comfortable life. We need to come up with a revised edition of "tales to tell your kids". And Yeo Boon Thai is your long lost brother...MUAHAHAHAHAHAH
haha. my old old man used to own a pewter mine. until the communist killed a cop in the mine late one night. old old man and old man's brother got thrown into reformed camp. my poor old man was overseas studying, and suddenly his fund got cut off and he lost touch with his family 'cus they were all thrown into reform camp, accused as communist.
the govt. then claimed the pewter mine as their own, beat my old old man up and feed him chilli sauce through his nose until he admitted that he's a communist.
thus, the result of them living in poverty after that. old old man lost his pewter mine, his cars collection, his dignity, his wife who died of stroke, his house and everything.
old man then paid through his nose while working part time to finish off his engineering degree, and conned a taiwanese wife bk to kl and picked up an accident baby behind some backlane of a dodgy cinema.
p.s i think ruby is another name for sentosa. or it was known as ruby b4 it bcame sentosa.
wwwoooaahhh...that's some amazing experience ure paternal family went thru. Guess every chinese family of that era has stories of their own including mine. Don't really know the history of my paternal family but from my understanding, they were quite well off. What I find most ironic is that Malaysian chinese(esp girls) worships the Japs i.e:taking on Jap names and fashion eventhough they knew that their parents or grandparents had somewhat bad experience with them during the Jap occupancy here in M'sia. Well, its even MORE ironic that the Japs are taking on American fashion!Does Hiroshima ring a bell?
I googled Ruby cinema and its actually located in Taman SEA!Apparantly the building has been taken over by a church
Word veri: sislopqr A new slang for a sister slammer?MUAHHAHAHAHAHH
yc, reading ur grandpa's stories actually makes me think a b&w movie ala "in the mood for love" with cheongsams and antiques and high drama. :D
and abt the adoption of japo fashions by chinese and american ones by japs, like what my fren said "maybe we r more capable of forgiving and forgeting"
YC: -_-' thanks a lot, red LandRover drivin, blog whorin, alcohol bingin, Boo lovin, emo talkin, wireless network stealin drama queen
naeboo: Guess you're right in a way. But then again, our generation didn't experience the suppressions first hand and guess that's why we are more capable of forgiving and forgetting. DAMN!if only women were just like that!
MALAYSIAN chinese are more forgiving compared to the CHINA chinese. They made a hoo haa when the Jap PM wanted to pay his respect at some memorial at some special occasssion that caused an uproar in almost the whole of Asia, China and Korea in particular
yc: maybe it's true. boon's damn fair. my twin and i are not. but mum used the soya milk story on us. she said that when she was pregnant with boon, she didn't drink soya milk. but he came out as white as snow white's ass. with us, she drank alot but we came out looking almost like mc. apparently, the theory was, ur child will be fair if u drink alot of soya when pregnant. didn't happen for us. hmmm...
